For the last 2 years, LoveScience has been encouraging primary school aged children to get stuck into science by providing science activities to schools, holiday clubs, festivals and maker faires. Our ethos is to get children hooked on science at a young age by giving them access to the kind of practical work they may not get the chance to do in school by making it easy for schools to deliver the science curriculum. We provide bespoke workshops and are introducing a brand new loan service, LoveScience BOXED. We have also been lucky enough to work with lots of science festivals, maker faires, holiday club providers and to provide children's entertainment at several family festivals.
LoveScience was started in 2013 by Abbie Reid. An experienced science teacher, she initially only intended to run a few classes in the summer holidays to give local children an alternative to the clubs being offered. However, she underestimated the appeal and before she new it, Abbie was being asked to provide activities at all sorts of venues and LoveScience was officially born! To date over 5000 children have attended one of our fizzing, sparking, bubbling, banging (and usually very messy) activities.
